This year's rookies should shake the game up.

Is there anyone more excited for Madden 15 than the rookies from the 2014 NFL Draft that will find their way into the game for the first time? Probably not, and there’s also no one quite as busy as Madden’s ratings czar Donny Moore, who is in charge of figuring out the ratings for every player in the game, including those young guns.

With E3 just a few days away, and the first Madden 15 screenshot now up online, there’s plenty to be excited about in the Madden universe. On Wednesday, we even heard the news from Donny that the entire 2014 draft class is now complete, and in the game, which means it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Madden 15 rookie ratings start to leak out soon.

Madden 15’s Impact Rookies

While every drafted rookie will be represented this season (assuming they’re still on a team come launch, we imagine), there are a few rookies that stand out as potential impact players in Madden. Cleveland Browns QB Johnny Manziel is perhaps the most significant impact player added to Madden 15, where his skills on the run and backyard-football style of play fits well in Madden’s online world. Also of note is QB Teddy Bridgewater of the Minnesota Vikings, who fell to the bottom of the first round but will give players an opportunity to actually pass the ball in Madden 15 (a wildly difficult thing to do in the days of Christian Ponder). Even Dri Archer might be worth a look for his godly speed.

Sammy Watkins of the Buffalo Bills was the first receiver taken in the 2014 NFL draft, but it might be Mike Evans of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that Madden fans fall in love with the most. At 6-foot-5 and over 220-pounds, Evans is a walking redzone target and will provide the kind of vertical game players have historically coveted in the game, and his Madden 15 rookie ratings will surely reflect that.

Defensively, there is no doubt Houston Texans rookie Jadeveon Clowney will be a force to be reckoned with alongside J.J. Watt, and will certainly be a favorite among franchise players who want to develop the skills of an ultra-talented player over the course of many seasons. Khalil Mack’s athleticism will also make him a popular user-controlled defender on the Oakland Raiders.
